Drawing vrom the Job Demands-Resoures (JD-R) model and using a person-oriented approach we explore learning resources of 1185 apprentices' work and school environments in Switzerland. Results from latent profile analysis suggested four profiles that are characterised by different patterns and levels of resources, including instruction quality, organisational/school climate, learning opportunities, autonomy, and demands. The groups differed regarding overall levels of resources (low - high) and specific resource levels in the workplace and at school (e.g. low at the workplace and high at school). Our study provides an integrated view about variations in learning environments of apprentices in the workplace and at school.
