Thefastand simple method of making latent fin-gerprints visiblebycandlesootcoating is presented forschool classes. Theprocess enablesfingerprintstobedev-elopedquickly andsafelyonvarious surfaces (glass,cera-mic, metal, paper),creatingadark, positiveimpression withhigh contrast. The basisofthe methodlies in thedifferentdegreesofadhesionofsoot particlesonthe residuesofthefingerprint on the one handand the backgroundmaterial onthe other.
