The chapter examines three different publications for craft teachers (the magazines Werkspuren (“traces of crafting”) and manuell (“manual”) and the web-based Do-it-Aufgaben (“Do-it-Tasks”). The first and the third ones combine textile and technical crafts, the second one is mainly focused on textile crafts. The Chapter was written shortly before new books with teaching and learning materials came out in Switzerland, it was too early still to take these into consideration. By executing a document analysis focusing on the respective take of each publication on the esthetics of objects for educational tasks, considerable differences could be detected. Whereas the magazine manuell was found to be promoting an esthetics that is oriented mainly on perfect execution of craft skills as seen in bought objects, the magazine "Werkspuren" fostered an interest in the esthetics of the process as well as the product. The web-based "Do-it-Aufgaben" put its main emphasis on mainly functionally oriented tinkering and puzzling while developing objects. Furthermore, it could be shown that esthetic aspects were mainly assigned to textile crafts.
