This article shortly summarizes the current stand of research regarding subject specific didactics in crafts and design education in Switzerland. It also sketches the implementation of research oriented and research based courses and activities in the Masters’ Programme in Domain Specific Didactics in Craft and Design at Bern University of Teacher Education.
